## # Injectables Using Botulinum Toxin 
Botox and Dysport are both injectables that reduce wrinkles by targeting facial muscles. Both contain the botulinum toxin that blocks signals from the brain to the muscles. The Botulinum toxin can relax muscles and prevent muscles movement. When the muscles relax, the skin on your face also relaxes, giving you younger-looking skin.

Shortly after Botox got FDA approval in 1989, Dysport hit the market. It’s been popular in Europe for over 20 years, and it’s had FDA approval since 2009. 
## Dysport Recommended for Larger Areas
While Dysport and Botox both use botulinum toxin, Dysport uses a more diluted dose. Because the ratio of saline solution to botulinum toxin is so different, Dysport behaves a bit differently. Once injected, Dysport can spread more quickly over a larger surface area. Dysport is mostly recommended for forehead wrinkles and 11 lines between the eyebrows.
## Botox Recommended for Targeted Areas
Because Botox has a higher concentration of the botulinum toxin and less saline solution, it does not spread as much as Dysport. This means it’s perfect for targeted wrinkles. Botox is recommended for lip lines, crow’s feet, wrinkles between the eyebrows, and more. 
## Botox Lasts Longer
Dysport starts acting faster than Botox. After a Dysport injection, you can notice results within 24 hours. Dysport usually lasts between three to four months.

Botox takes a few more days to settle into target muscles on your face. You’ll start to notice changes after several days, and you’ll see full results after two weeks. Botox may also last longer than Dysport. On average, Botox lasts between three to six months.
## Botox is Approved for Medical Treatments
Botox has FDA approval for a number of medical uses. This includes treating chronic migraines, muscles spasms, underarm sweating, and even overactive bladder concerns. It’s also approved for cosmetic treatments to reduce wrinkles.

Dysport has fewer approved uses than Botox. It’s approved to treat neck muscles spasms, limb spasticity, and forehead wrinkles.
