## 1. Avoid Blood Thinners Before Botox
Did you know that what you do before your Botox appointment can affect your results? In the few days before your Botox appointment, avoid blood thinners. This includes medication that can thin the blood, such as aspirin and ibuprofen. Vitamin A and Vitamin E can also act as blood thinners, so don’t use products with these ingredients for a couple of days. Alcohol can also act as a blood thinner, so avoid drinking for a few days before your appointment. Blood thinners can increase your risk of bruising right after your injection and can also increase the risk of Botox spreading to nearby muscles. This will make Botox less effective and minimize your results. 
## 2. Skip the Exercise After Botox
Immediately after Botox, you’ll need to give Botox time to settle into the target muscles. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your injection. Exercise can increase blood flood throughout your body and your face. This increases the chance of Botox spreading to nearby muscles and diminishing your results.
## 3. Don’t Put Pressure on Your Face
To get the most out of your Botox, keep your head elevated after your appointment. You may be tempted to take a nap, but we recommend staying upright for about four hours after your injection. For the next few hours, avoid any pressure on your face, such as touching or massaging injection sites, exfoliating your face, or vigorously applying or removing makeup. It’s best to avoid any other facial treatments for at least 48 hours after Botox. 
## 4. Take Care Of your Skin with a Great Skincare Routine
You can complement your Botox results with a great skincare routine. Avoiding sun exposure and wearing sunscreen whenever you’re outside can prevent sun damage as well as extend your Botox results. Using a daily cleanser and moisturizer will also improve your skin health and enhance your Botox results.
