## Don’t Use Blood Thinners Before Your Appointment
One way to reduce your risk of bruising is to avoid using blood thinners for about a week before your next Botox appointment. Blood thinners can increase your risk of bruising, so steer clear of ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, ginkgo, ginseng, and St. John’s wort. Alcohol can also increase your risk of bruising, so avoid drinking for a couple of days before and after your appointment. 
## How to Treat Bruises from Botox
If you’re prone to bruising, you can try icing the area to decrease bruising. If you start to bruise, ice right away to reduce pain and prevent further bruising. However, icing too much can make it harder for Botox to settle into your muscles, so use ice sparingly.

Topical vitamin K oxidase can also decrease bruising. It can break up hemosiderin to reduce the pigmentation of bruising, getting rid of black and blue spots faster. You can apply vitamin K up to three times per day.
## How to Cover Bruises from Injectables
If you bruise from injectables, the right concealer can camouflage any discoloration. Start with a deep pink concealer to lift the black, and apply it with a good concealer brush. Then move on to a skin tone that’s a shade or two deeper than your natural tone. Finish with a color that matches your skin tone, then dust with powder.
