As my parents started getting older, I began going with my mom to her many doctors’ appointments. I realized that I needed to educate myself about my mother’s ailments. This led to my decision to pursue a career in nursing. I want to be able to take care of my parents as they age and be qualified to provide the best possible care. Each time one of my patients gets better because of the treatment I provide, I know I made the right decision to become a nurse.

## Education and Qualifications
I became a Medical Assistant 27 years ago, then set out to become a Registered Nurse. I attended Grand Canyon University out of Phoenix, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I’ve been an RN for over 16 years. I currently work as an Emergency Room Charge Nurse at Mercy General Hospital Sacramento. I am also a clinical professor at California State University Sacramento where I teach Advanced Medical/Surgical and Pediatric Medicine.

Not only has this given me an appreciation for aesthetic treatments, but it’s also made me a more confident aesthetic nurse. ## A Bit About Me
I am from the island of Guam, but when my father retired from the Air Force, we settled in California. I live in Sacramento, and I love that it's between Tahoe and the Bay Area. I can drive in either direction and enjoy a fun getaway! My partner and I are engaged, and we’re planning our wedding for next fall. Between the two of us, we have three kids. My daughter is 31, and my fiancé has a 15-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. We also have a Chihuahua who is over 11 years old. He's a little old man who loves his treats!

We love traveling, both in the US and abroad. My most recent trip was to Hawaii, and I loved it! I also enjoy reading, watching documentaries, and shopping. During COVID I taught myself how to decorate cakes and create sweet boxes.
